About The CourseWelcome Message
Welcome to the CoursePlus Web site for BIOCHEMISTRY -- AN INTRODUCTORY COURSE II (120.601.01), a course offered by the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Course Description
Examines the major metabolic pathways that are central to eukaryotic cell growth and maintenance.
Course Learning Objectives
Upon successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the biochemical reactions and pathways that lead to the generation of metabolic energy in mammalian cells
- Describe how biomedical signals between cells and tissues are converted into targeted metabolic changes. More broadly, this course will provide the students with a biochemical perspective that they can apply to their own specific areas of public health research.
